Welcome to Artisanne

All of our baskets are exclusively handwoven by our dedicated team of artisans.  Each piece is created with meticulous attention to detail and is crafted respecting the traditional Senegalese Wolof weaving style whilst incorporating contemporary designs and colours. The items are weaved from a local grass called njodax and strips of plastic that are usually used for making prayer mats. The unique nature of the products means that no two are the same.

We liaise directly with communities of Senegalese women, avoiding intermediaries to ensure that money goes directly to the women, with the aim of providing a fair and secure income for them and their families.
