Join us for Small Friday not Black Friday
The best things come in small packages from small companies
As a small brand we’re heartened to see many people aiming to support us and other small companies this season as we try to make the best of this strange year. Thanks so much for embracing Small Friday and little firms like us who are run by families, are creative sole traders, masters of upcycling or those who simply care deeply about where and how their products are sourced. Here are a few independent brands that I love and will be buying Christmas presents from, just in case you’d like a little inspiration:
The Old Cinema – I’ve always found wonderful pressies there. Original, upcycled, eclectic items with real history to them and it’s been an iconic place on Chiswick High Road forever.
Wheelers - run by brothers Spencer and Toby where, as a family tradition we always get our Christmas tree plus the most gorgeous decorations and of course a hand-made wreath and plants all year round!
The English Stamp Company – I love their rubber stamps which the children use to print on writing paper and greeting cards - they can be personalised too, like the Artisanne stamp.
Spitalfields Candle Company - this tiny company makes amazing scented candles from UK sourced essential oils and non-GM soya wax, the orange & clove smells like Christmas in a sparkly glass holder.

Daunt books - the Marylebone flagship is my favourite shop in the world (I used to work round the corner) with its dreamy conservatory ceiling and stained-glass window. The Travel section is exceptional but it’s also a great all-round bookshop. In lockdown 1.0 they gift wrapped my orders (without asking!)
Family Rule - beautiful height charts which are giant rulers made from sustainably sourced wood, a great lasting gift and a fun way to record the kids literally growing up!
Windfall Natural – a great community shop with natural creams, candles and handpicked organic foods, they also really know their vitamins and natural remedies.

Cotton Twist - started by a local mum, they have fab stocking fillers including charming craft kits made from natural materials to create peg dolls, bracelets or mini dinosaur gardens.
The Jacksons – quirky, colourful clothing and original homewares sourced through artisan communities in Bangladesh, I love their embroidered jute bags with witty slogans and beautiful hand-beaded purses and dog collars because pets love pressies too!
Playin Choc – vegan organic chocolate that’s delicious and colourfully packaged with fun little animal models the kids love to build, all made of recycled and recyclable card.
